Information and analysis on the intersection between social media and democracy in Latin America.

Circuito is an information and analysis initiative on the intersection between democracy and social media in Latin America. Its lines of emphasis are content moderation, regulation of internet platforms and attention economy.

By monitoring community standards, identifying cases and following up on current issues, we seek to become a specialized forum and space for regional exchange for civil society, regulators, companies and other stakeholders.

In terms of content moderation, Circuito has worked in partnership with the Center for Studies on Freedom of Expression -CELE- of the University of Palermo through the Letra Chica project, which monitors changes to the content policies of the platforms.

Circuito is an initiative of Linterna Verde, a Colombian non-profit organization that monitors and explains how public opinion is built in social media and digital spaces. In its initial phase, this project was supported by Google.
