In November 2020, tiktoker Jina The Gorgeous did a live stream while giving a bath to her nephew, a toddler whose face and upper body were visible.
As soon as she saw that one of her followers warned her that she could be sanctioned, the transmission was cut off and a notice appeared informing her that she was banned from the TikTok LIVE service for violating the community rules.
Jina went through the appeals process immediately, attached a photo of her passport to verify her identity, and a couple of hours later the platform revoked the sanction. However, the next morning, she found that she had been permanently suspended for "multiple violations of community standards."
Over the next few days Jina recorded the different ways she tried to recover her account and shared them in a YouTube video that is no longer available. She wrote emails to company addresses, created another account to try to communicate with the TikTok team, but received no response.
After many emails and two weeks of waiting, Jina uploaded another video to YouTube telling that she had managed to get her account back. When she logged back in, she could see that the reason she had been suspended was an alleged "serious pornography" violation.
